There were two closing parties the fist for the people who had worked for any of the Strand Hotels Group from about 1960 onwards. The Head Office of Strand Hotels was located in Sherwood Street and formed a major part of everyday life at the Regent Palace Hotel.
Strand Hotels portfolio included The Cumberland Marble arch and The Strand Palace Hotel, as well as a few provincial hotels. as a result we had a lot of ex head office staff attending in those days all the head Office functions were run from Sherwood Street. The second party was for all ex employees of the Regent Palace and a few others who could attend not the first party and some attended both. On both occasions there was a presentation on the Life and times of the Regent Palace which went back for the whole 90 years of history.
When we launch the new web site which is currently being worked on we will publish all the photographs of those who attended identifying the individuals where possible. In the meantime here are a few which demonstrate both events which took place on the 18thand 19th October 2006
