BBC News - Diamond Jubilee: Thousands watch River Thames pageant: "Tens of thousands of rain-soaked people have packed London to watch the Queen's 1,000-boat Diamond Jubilee pageant weave its way along the River Thames.
Tugs, steamers, pleasure cruisers, dragon boats and kayaks set off with the Queen travelling at its heart.
Her barge was greeted by a 41-gun salute as it neared the Tower of London at the end of its seven-mile journey.
Earlier, Prince Charles joined a London street party, one of many in the UK to mark 60 years of the Queen's reign."
