Join Robert WebbDavid MitchellJames Bachman and Olivia Colman for the fifth radio series of silly but brainy sketches about everything from the Escalator brothers' invention of the horseless staircase to the dubious advantages of getting yourself uploaded to the Digital Human Cloud.

Brixton property is bubbling up as champagne bar opens - London - News - London Evening Standard: "Brixton is to get its first champagne bar in the latest upmarket opening in the area.

The arrival of Champagne + Fromage on October 15 comes after estate agent Foxtons opened a branch in the area, which is also due to get a Waitrose.

The latest openings have fuelled fears that rents could rise, forcing long-established independent traders out of Brixton"

In their new show X&Y, Marcus du Sautoy and Victoria Gould use mathematics, humour and theatre to navigate the known and unknown reaches of our universe. Through a series of surreal episodes, characters X and Y, trapped in a world they don’t understand, tackle some of the biggest philosophical and scientific questions of our time.
Based on an idea developed with Complicite.

More about Marcus and Victoria
Marcus and Victoria met while working on A Disappearing Number, Complicite’s multi award-winning play about mathematics. X&Y has developed from that collaboration and pursues many of the questions at its heart.

Marcus du Sautoy is the Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of New College. He is the author of three books and has presented numerous radio and TV series. In 2009 Marcus was awarded the Royal Society’s Faraday Prize and in 2010 he received an OBE for services to science. 
Actress and mathematician Victoria Gould studied Physics at the University of Manchester and Applicable Mathematics at Cranfield University. Her work for Complicite includes EndgameA Disappearing Number, Shun-kin and The Elephant Vanishes
