The Museum will host Universities Week, 9-15 June 2014. Come and be inspired by some of the best university discoveries around, and learn about future technologies, including robots and supersonic cars.
This event will feature around 40 universities from across the UK and their research into health and well-being, culture, society, environment and science. Our characters include Mary Anning, the pioneering nineteenth-century fossil hunter who discovered the first ichthyosaur when she was 12 years old. | Marvel at the heat and pressure lying beneath our feet in this action-packed science show in our high tech Attenborough Studio. This show is suitable for Key Stage 3 and upper Key Stage 2 students, who can shoulder the weight of the world’s tectonic plates and explore the geophysics of cold custard! |

Surprise and captivate Key Stage 2 students with this hands-on workshop investigating teeth and diet. Students will examine our fascinating collection of animal skulls, including two life-size replica dinosaur skulls, after which a palaeontologist will challenge them to apply their knowledge to work out which dinosaur ate what. |
