8 October 2014 London - The Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award is pleased to announce Public Image, an exhibition of new work by Jamie Hosegood, the first recipient of the year-long Award, awarded annually to MA students of Fine Art from Central Saint Martins.

The exhibition will present a selection of Hosegood’s work that explores paintings’ theoretical, ongoing engagement with the photograph as a source and subject. His paintings are not just his own interpretation of his subject but also an expression of the continual process of cross-referencing information in our modern world.
Helen Scott Lidgett was Founding Partner of the communications consultancy Brunswick Arts. She was herself a student at Saint Martin’s School of Art and continued to be an energetic advocate for the arts both in her working and private life.

The Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award is part of the Acme residencies and awards program. Beyond an exhibition, the Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award grants the winning artist with year long access to a rent free studio in one of Acme’s newest studio buildings, a 5,000 bursary, and a mentoring programme. The project is funded by Acme Studios and the Helen Scott Lidgett Committee, who support UK students with aspirations to become practicing artists. 10% of all sales made during this exhibition will be donated to the Helen Scott Lidgett Fund.
