    Word Games with Aviva Dautch 
    Sunday 19 October @ 2.30pm - £7.50 

    Taking as their theme Abram Games' credo, "maximum meaning, minimum means", female Jewish poets come together for some playful and poetic engagement with questions of language and identity, in a poetry reading curated by the Jewish Museum's Poet in Residence,Aviva Dautch with an introduction to Games' work byIrene Wise. Featuring Linda BlackYvonne Green,Eve GrubinJude Rosen and Leah Thorn.

    Curator Talk: Designing the 20th Century
    Monday 27 October @ 2pm - Free with museum entry 

    Elizabeth Selby, curator of Designing the 20th Century will talk about how the exhibition was put together and about some of the key items in the exhibition. Book now as places are limited.
    This talk will also be held on 24 November and 15 December.

    Wednesday 29 October @ 10am - 4.30pm - Prices vary 

    The Big Draw (10am - 12 noon, Free)
    This year the theme of the world’s biggest drawing festival is ‘It’s Our World’ and we’re joining in with a day of drawing at the museum. Watch illustrators, take part, and get creative.
    Young Artists Studio: Make Your Own Poster
    (2pm - 4.30pm, £5 per child)
    Spend the afternoon with art and art appreciation teacher, Barbara Kay, founder of KidsArt, designing and creating your own poster inspired by Abram Games. Begin by exploring the exhibition and then have a go at making your own poster using the museum’s exquisite collection as inspiration. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults free with museum entry.

    Soviet Zion - World Premier of new musical
    Sunday 19 & Monday 20 October @ 6.30pm - £18 (£16 conc) 

    The new musical drama Soviet Zion tells the story of an American family and a Ukrainian family who in 1939 both move to Siberia, participating in a movement to create there a Yiddish utopia. The reality they face is not what they had been led to believe, and great personal sacrifice will have to be made in order for them to achieve the freedom they seek. Set against a historical backdrop, the story of these characters' intertwining lives explores questions of identity, integrity, and faith.

    The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain's 21st Annual London One-Day Conference will take place at the Jewish Museum this year, featuring talks from JGSGB Chairman Doreen Berger, Director of Jewish Heritage UK Dr. Sharman Kadish and AJEX archivistMartin Sugarman.     Camden Council Art Trail
    Throughout October (exact dates to be confirmed) 

    We are excited to be participating in Camden Council’s new art trail, which will feature work of all sizes from prolific artists in venues around the district. We are very lucky to be working with Turner Prize nominee Mark Titchner, who is designing a work for our ground floor. Additional locations include Camden Council's new offices at 5 Pancras Square, The British Museum, Camley Street Nature Park, and local cafés.

    • Predators and Prey : A Roman Mosaic from Lod, Israel @ Waddesdon Manor til 2 November
      A unique and UK exclusive presentation of The Lod Mosaic. This stunning Roman mosaic, unearthed in Israel in 1996, is currently displayed in the Coach House, before it continues an international tour prior to being permanently installed in a specially built museum in Tel Aviv.  An exhibition detailing the Rothschild’s long time support of archaeological work accompanies the installation, along with some contemporary objects from the Middle East kindly lent by the British Museum to illuminate its wider background.
      The Predators and Prey Exhibition is open Wednesdays to Sundays 11am – 5pm. No admission fee for the exhibition, but normal grounds admission rates apply to enter Waddesdon Gardens.
      The gardens are open Wednesdays to Sundays 10am – 5pm until 4 January 2015. See www.waddesdon.org.uk for further details.

    The Jewish Museum Cafe and Shop
    Sample our delicious range of cakes, soups, sandwiches, snacks, teas and coffees in our family-friendly cafe. Admission is free and and the cafe is licensed by the Sephardi Kashrut Authority (only food purchased in the cafe can be consumed on the premises). Don't miss our shop either, where you can find books, gifts, jewellery, Judaica and children's items to suit all budgets. Located on the ground floor, the shop also offers same day event and admission tickets, and museum memberships.
