Family Day: Richard Tuttle:
The Weave of Textile Language
Saturday 1 November, 12-4pm, Free 

Get inspired by artist Richard Tuttle’s playful use of everyday materials. Join artists Monica Rivas andFreya Gabie to make and exhibit your own drawings in wire, cotton, string, rope, plywood and paper. Explore the exhibition with a new Family Trail by artists Simon & Tom Bloor

Led by professional artists, students will develop their observational drawing skills and build a fantastic portfolio of work exploring a wide range of subjects and techniques. These popular weekend drawing classes are for young people aged 10-15.

Children’s Activities
Every weekend,  Thursdays and Fridays during school holidays at Tate Modern (Free)

Visit the Open Studio: Sculptural Weave to experiment with large-scale 3D weaving and construction. Or go to the Families Welcome Room: Warp & Weft, and pick up a Sonic Trail to explore a range of textiles to add to your very own paper-based loom. The commission is part of a wider survey of the artist taking place in London and comprising a major exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery surveying five decades of Tuttle’s career.
