Events this weekend

There are a number of events taking place in London this weekend. Public transport will be the best way to get around. Areas around these events will be busy and roads will be closed and buses will be on diversion or will stop short of their normal destination. A number of Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations will also be out of service. The main events are:

On Saturday, the Lord Mayor’s Show will take place in the City and Westminster. This will be followed by fireworks on the river between Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges in the early evening.

Remembrance Sunday also takes place this weekend. The Whitehall area will be closed for traffic until early afternoon and bus routes will be diverted.

The Tower Hill area is likely to be busier than usual while the Tower of London Remembers event takes place; please allow extra time for journeys. To avoid congestion at Tower Hill, please use nearby Aldgate, Aldgate East, Tower Gateway (for step-free access), Bank, Monument or London Bridge Tube stations.
