Resource for Holloway Job Club

Weekly on Thursday and Friday, 2-5pm at Resource for London 356 Holloway Road (next to Waitrose) N7 6PA 
A weekly series of employability skills, creative workshops and drop in sessions. This Thursday, get Twitter training from 2-5pm, starting with the basics and getting more advanced in the second half of the afternoon. On Friday, the first of LMU's employability workshops on Job Applications will take place from 2-5pm. Free Job Interview Training 

Friday 6 February – Friday 8 May at Resource for London 356 Holloway Road (next to Waitrose) N7 6PA 
London Metropolitan University will teach a series of 6 workshops from their Employability in the Community Sector Module. These sessions are open and free to attend but you must commit to attending the first 4 in order to take part in the final interview. Sessions will be taught to students of LMU as well as people from Resource for Holloway job club. You will receive a certificate upon completion of this module. If you would like to attend, get in touch with nessa@rowanarts.net. The George: Holloway’s last community pub?

Sophie Mepham drops into The George to talk football, Irish pubs and sharing maltesers. Is The George Holloway's last community pub?  “I don’t know why I’m bothering with all this cleaning when there’s a match on Wednesday.” Kelly has probably been asking this question since she first started bartending the George 24 years ago. “The area is unrecognizable from then.” She tells me while ferociously sweeping.Read more of Sophie's excellent writing here.

Peace & Love Birds Meets Resource for Holloway 

Volunteers from Resource for Holloway interviewed Sudanese artist Ahmed Eltahir as part of an interview training session. His exhibition Peace & Love Birds was produced by Trado, a group set up to improve the educational prospects of Sudanese children living in Yida refugee camp.
