Sensational Butterflies returns this week to the Museum’s lawn.
Follow the exhibition trail charting one of nature's most incredible life cycles, as munching caterpillars transform into jewel-like chrysalises and emerge as hundreds of live butterflies.

Immerse yourself in life beneath the waves at Coral Reefs: Secret Cities of the Sea. Take a virtual reef dive and enjoy underwater photography, and see live coral and fish in our aquarium, alongside 250 specimens from the Museum’s collection.

A strange group of mammals that lived 10,000 years ago in South America has left many scientists baffled, until now.

The mammals had a puzzling combination of rodent, hippo and whale-like features, and Museum scientists have revealed their closest living relatives to be horses, tapirs and rhinos.
