Philharmonia Orchestra

Sonority abounds as Philharmonia Orchestra assembles at Royal Festival Hall to perform Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto. The composer’s last piano concerto was premiered in 1811 and features a distinctive duel between two sets of timpani. The orchestra is joined by Martin Helmchen on piano and conducted by Paavo Järvi, and the ensemble will also perform pieces by Haydn and Nielsen.
