London Transport Museum - All of London: Hidden, illustrated and at play!




Hidden London: 
Tickets to the general public on Friday 17 April. Tickets must be booked in advance for both tours. At Charing Cross, see where movies such as Skyfall, Paddington Bear and TVs 24 were filmed; or visit tunnels underneath Clapham South Underground station that were created as a result of the Blitz to shelter Londoners during the war and later provided temporary accommodation for Caribbean migrants arriving on the Empire Windrush ship in 1948.

Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 April
Our spring Open Weekend will be jam-packed with a huge choice of events including bus pit tours, live demonstrations by the Emergency Response team, family fun activities and an Engineering trail. Visitors can enjoy trips on our miniature railway, listen to talks about secret tunnels and disused stations and watch films from the Museum’s archives.

Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 April
Combine a visit to our Acton Depot Open Weekend with a behind-the-scenes tour of Hearne House, Transport for London’s engineering testing workshop, which is next door to the Museum’s Depot. Find out how modern technology keeps the Underground running safely. This event is free, but places are limited and must be booked in advance. Visitors must also have a valid ticket to the spring 2015 Depot Open Weekend.

The Goodbye Piccadilly – from Home Front to Western Front exhibition at the Museum will close on Sunday 19 April 2015. Don’t miss the last chance to see this amazing collection of objects, photographs and propaganda posters on display, which together give a unique perspective on the First World War.

Friday 15 May - Sunday 6 September 
Richmond Park, Brockwell Lido, St Saviours Dock, Leadenhall Market and Clapham Junction are just some of the places that have inspired 100 illustrators to produce a collection of illuminating snapshots of London Life. Visitors will be taken on a visual journey across London with images which range from the contemplative to the crowded and loud, imaginary or real and from the past to the present; all prompted by places that form part of this amazing city.
