Transport for London - Weekend travel information

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 11/12 April. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal this weekend, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Hammersmith & City line
From Saturday until mid-May, Royal Oak station will be closed for station improvement work. Ticket issuing facilities will not be available.

Jubilee line
There will be no service between Waterloo and Stanmore while we replace the tunnel lining at Bond Street, replace points at Neasden and track at Wembley Park.

Metropolitan line
Trains will not run between Aldgate and Rickmansworth/Watford to allow for points work at Neasden and track replacement work at Wembley Park and Moor Park.




London Overground


On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
 Camden Road and Stratford (in preparation for five car trains)
 Sydenham and Crystal Palace until 08:30 (due to Network Rail track work)
 New Cross Gate and West Croydon until 09:00 (due to Network Rail track work)





Trams


Trams will not run between the following stations due to Croydon town centre improvement work:
 Reeves Corner and East Croydon
 Elmers End and Arena

Buses


Hammersmith - From 22:30 on Friday until 05:00 on Monday, for the next three weekends, the Hammersmith flyover (A4) will be closed westbound to allow for resurfacing and waterproofing work. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination. For more information on these weekend closures, please click here

West London - On Saturday, from 07:30 until 19:30, Putney, Hammersmith and Chiswick Bridges will be busier than usual due to an event on the River Thames. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Elephant & Castle - A lane closure is currently in place on the A3 Elephant & Castle Roundabout until 2016 for improvement work. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination. For more details, please click here

City of London - From 07:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Monday, Upper Thames Street will be closed westbound at the junction of Little Trinity Lane to enable the installation of a crane at Queensbridge House. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

City of London - On Saturday, from 22:00 until 06:00 on Sunday, Fleet Street will be closed in both directions between Chancery Lane and Fetter Lane due to a religious event. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Closure of part of A406 North Circular Road - From 22:00 on Saturday until 10:00 on Sunday, the Fore Street Tunnel on the A406 North Circular Road will be closed in both directions. This is due to tunnel refurbishment work. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination. For more details, please click here

Southall - On Sunday, from 09:00 until 19:00, certain roads in the area will be closed due to a religious procession; this includes Havelock Road, King Street, South Road, Uxbridge Road and Green Drive. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Santander Cycles


The following docking stations will be out of service:
 Wansey Street (for building maintenance work)
 Manresa Road on Sunday 12 April (for kerb drop work)
 New Cavendish Street until Tuesday 14 April (for construction work)
 Westfield eastern access road until early June (for electrical work)
