Man arrested after posing as Duke of Marlborough and racking up £1,800 bill at luxury London hotel

A 33-year-old man allegedly pretended to be the Duke of Marlborough and racked up a bill of more than £1,800 at a luxury hotel in Kings Cross.

Alexander Christopher Wood, of Southend-on-Sea, was arrested yesterday at the Great Northern Hotel after staff began to grown suspicious of his identity.
He allegedly booked in for four nights at the hotel under the name of the Duke of Marlborough, costing more than £1,800.
Wood also is alleged to have signed his name as Lord Jamie Spencer and added to his bill by buying rounds of drinks for other hotel guests, prompting staff to become suspicious.
