This summer join us to celebrate Africa’s rich cultural influence on London with a season of music, dance, film, photography and much more.

The season launches this Sunday 5 July with Africa Dance! a day of vibrant performances celebrating the diversity of music and dance styles rooted in the African Diaspora. You can also enjoy food and drink, and learn some dance steps.

Throughout the summer, visit with friends and family to enjoy evening jazz picnics, contemporary and traditional dance, weekend concerts and carnival parades in the Gardens, as well as films by up-and-coming young directors, talks exploring the fascinating stories behind our African collections and museum displays.

For families, African-inspired activities will take place across the summer holidays in our Big Wednesdays events and in our popular art and craft, object-handling and storytelling sessions.
