Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 7/8 November

weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 7/8 November. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday takes place this weekend. Roads in the Whitehall and St. James’s Park areas will be closed to traffic from 02:00 until 17:30. From midnight on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday, buses will be diverted and will not serve the Whitehall and Trafalgar Square areas.

Westminster, Charing Cross, Embankment, St. James’s Park and Green Park Tube stations are likely to be busier than usual. If you can, please consider re-timing your travel or seeking alternative routes where possible and allow more time for your journey.

London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service between Edgware Road and Hammersmith. This is to enable track replacement work at Paddington and Wood Lane, and line improvement work at Hammersmith.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between Edgware Road and Hammersmith. This is to enable track replacement work at Paddington and Wood Lane, and line improvement work at Hammersmith.




London Overground


Trains will not run between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is to prepare the line for electrification works.

On Sunday there will be no service after 22:00, between Gospel Oak and Stratford. This is due to Network Rail track work.

On Sunday, trains to and from Chingford will not stop at Bethnal Green. This is due to Network Rail track work.

Buses


Neasden - Until mid-December, there are some changes on the A406 North Circular Road. There are various overnight closures and lane restrictions between Staples Corner and Harrow Road. Daytime lane restrictions and bus stop suspensions are also in place between Brentfield Road and Neasden Lane, in both directions. This is due to Road Modernisation Plan works. Roads in and around Neasden and Wembley are busier than usual and delays are expected between Hanger Lane and Brent Cross. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination. For more information, please click here

Central London - From 16:00 until 23:59 today, Thursday, road closures will be in place to facilitate a march. These include Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Southwark - From 16:00 until 22:00 today, Thursday, roads surrounding Southwark Park are expected to be busy. This is due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Clapham - From 04:00 on Saturday until mid-December, the A3 Long Road will be closed eastbound between Clapham Common North Side and The Pavement. Also, there will be a lane closure on Clapham Common South Side. This is due to Thames Water works. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Blackheath - From 12:00 until 20:00 on Saturday, roads surrounding Blackheath Park are expected to be busy, due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Battersea - From 17:00 until 21:00 on Saturday, roads surrounding Battersea Park are expected to be busy, due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

East London - From 18:30 until 20:30 on Saturday, roads surrounding Victoria Park are expected to be busy, due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Westminster - From midnight on Saturday until 17:30 on Sunday, roads in and around the Whitehall and St. James’s Park areas will be closed, including Whitehall Place and Parliament Square. There will also be a number of road closures across London for Remembrance Sunday events. Central London - From 08:00 on Monday until mid-December, there will be lane closures on Parliament Square, at the junction of St. Margaret Street, due to Cycle Superhighway works.
