Transport for London - Weekend travel information

weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 14/15 November. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

Lord Mayor’s Show

On Saturday, the Lord Mayor’s Show will take place in the City and Westminster. This will be followed by fireworks on the river between Blackfriars and Waterloo Bridges in the late afternoon. Areas around the event will be busy and roads will be closed. Blackfriars Bridge will be closed from 07:00 and Waterloo Bridge will be closed from 16:00. Buses in the City and Westminster areas will be diverted and will not serve these areas. A number of Santander Cycle Hire docking stations will be out of service.

Various Tube stations in the City and Westminster area are likely to be busier than usual, including Moorgate, Liverpool Street, Waterloo and Blackfriars. If you can, please consider re-timing your travel or seeking alternative routes where possible and allow more time for your journey.

London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Piccadilly line
There will be no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge. This is while we replace the track at Alperton and South Harrow.




London Overground


Tonight, Thursday, there will be no service after 22:30 between Hackney Downs and Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Enfield Town. This is due to Network Rail track work.

On Saturday and Sunday, trains will not run between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is to prepare the line for electrification works.
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations due to Network Rail track work:
 Liverpool Street and Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Enfield Town/Chingford until 10:15
 Trains on the Chingford branch will not stop at Bethnal Green after 10:15





Docklands Light Railway


There will be no service between West Ham and Woolwich Arsenal, due to track improvement work.

Buses


Neasden - Brentfield Road will be closed due to an event until 20:00 today, Thursday. Daytime lane restrictions are also in place between Brentfield Road and Neasden Lane, in both directions. Also, from 00:30 until 05:30 on Sunday, the A406 will be closed westbound between Staples Corner and Harrow Road. Roads in and around Neasden and Wembley are busier than usual and delays are expected between Hanger Lane and Brent Cross. This due to Road Modernisation Plan works. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination. For more information, please click here

Wembley - From 12:00 until 18:00 on Friday, the A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads surrounding the stadium are expected to be busy. This is due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

City of London and Westminster - From 06:30 until 18:30 on Saturday, buses will be diverted and will not serve the City and Westminster areas due to the Lord Mayor’s Show. Various road closures will be in place from 07:00 until 18:00. Blackfriars Bridge will be closed from 07:00 and Waterloo Bridge will be closed from 16:00. Hammersmith - From 20:00 on Saturday until 08:00 on Sunday, the A4 will be closed eastbound between Hammersmith and North End Road. A signed diversion route will be in place via Hammersmith Road and Earls Court Road. The A4 westbound will be open as usual. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Southwest London - From 07:30 until 12:00 on Sunday, roads in and around the Chelsea and Fulham areas will be closed, including Fulham Road and Walham Grove. This is due to an event. From 07:00 until 12:00 on Sunday, buses will be diverted and will not serve the Chelsea and Fulham areas. For more information, please visit tfl.gov.uk/weekend-travel

Central London - From 08:00 until 23:00 on Sunday, Regent Street will be closed in both directions, between Mortimer Street and Piccadilly Circus. New Burlington Street will also be closed from 06:00. This is due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
