An extra day of design this leap year

Did you know that until Julius Caesar came to power, people observed a 355-day calendar? Or that, in Denmark a man refusing a woman’s leap day proposal must give her 12 pairs of gloves? (Sources: BBC & Mirror) This leap year the Design Museum is celebrating with an extra day of design on Monday 29 February.

Coming Soon: Easter Festival

The museum is hosting a series of family-friendly activities around the current exhibition, Cycle Revolution. Events include a bicycle-powered mini-cinema, drop in bike maintenance and cycle training sessions plus talks, tours and creative activities. Many of the events are free, or free with museum entry. More info

Going behind the headlines, Migration Lab focuses on the reality of forced migration, inviting you to put yourself in the shoes of those who are creating solutions by making, doing, sharing, and debating. Ticket includes entry into the Designs of the Year and Designer in Residence exhibitions.

The London School of Architecture returns to the Design Museum to host  a panel discussion exploring the architect’s role in the 21st Century? Leading thinkers Alastair Parvin and Daniel Susskind join Farshid Moussavi and Will Hunter on the panel. Ticket includes entry into the Designs of the Year exhibition.
