Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 12/13 March 2016

weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 12/13 March. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Metropolitan line
Trains will not run between Aldgate and Wembley Park while we carry out track replacement work between Baker Street and Finchley Road.




London Overground


Trains will not run between Romford and Upminster, due to Crossrail construction and Network Rail infrastructure work.
 
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
 Camden Road and Stratford due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
 Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Chingford until 10:15, due to Network Rail track work
 Sydenham and West Croydon, due to Network Rail signalling work





TfL Rail


Trains will not run between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. This is due to Network Rail overhead line and track upgrade work.

Emirates Air Line


The Emirates Air Line is currently closed for planned maintenance work and will reopen on Monday 14 March.





Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

A406 Neasden - The A406 North Circular Road will be closed eastbound between Harrow Road and Staples Corner during Friday night, from midnight until 06:30 on Saturday. It will also be closed westbound between Staples Corner and Brentfield Road during Saturday night, from midnight until 07:30 on Sunday. This is for essential bridge repairs and resurfacing work.

Blackwall Tunnel - The tunnel will be closed southbound on Saturday between 01:00 and 08:00, and will also be closed eastbound on Sunday between 01:00 and 08:00. This is for tunnel improvement work.

Clapham South - From 08:00 until 18:00 on Saturday and from 09:00 until 16:00 on Sunday, there will be temporary traffic lights in place on Balham Hill, at the junction of Oldridge Road. This is for resurfacing works.

Central London - From midday until 17:00 on Saturday, there will be delays to traffic on roads in the area, including Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. This is due to a march.

Twickenham - From 13:00 until 22:00 on Saturday, roads leading to Twickenham station and stadium are expected to be busy. London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed. This is due to an event.

Central London - On Sunday, a parade will take place between Piccadilly and Whitehall Place via lower Regent Street, Pall Mall and Trafalgar Square. Roads in and around the area will be affected from around 06:00 until 22:00. For more information, please click here

A406 Brent Park - From 07.30 on Sunday until mid-April, lane 1 of the westbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road will be closed between Woodheyes Road and Brentfield Road. Lane 1 of the eastbound carriageway remains closed between Wrights Place and Drury Way. This is for junction improvement works.

Westminster - From 10:45 until 15:00 on Sunday, there will be delays to traffic on roads in the area, including Parliament Square, Strand, Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge. This is due to a march.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Eltham - The A2 Eltham Tunnel will be closed overnight eastbound from midnight tonight, Thursday, to 05:00 tomorrow, and from 22:00 tomorrow to 05:00 on Saturday. This is for tunnel improvement work.
