Next month we're pleased to present the first ever full retrospective of British film theorists Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen. Among the most significant writers on film, they were 70s British avant-garde cinema's most exploratory makers, crossing the borders between fiction, documentary and essay film-making.

We'll also mark the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear accident with the remarkable documentary 
The Russian Woodpecker (2015) and in celebration of the final weeks of the exhibition Electronic Superhighway (2016-1966) the work of activist duoThe Yes Men. Do join us.

A two-week season of film and discussion explores the individual and collaborative works of film theorists Laura Mulvey (b. 1941) and Peter Wollen (b. 1938). Mulvey will be in attendance throughout the season, joined by special guest speakers including Esther LeslieMark Lewis, Volker PantenbergDiane Tammes and more.

An evening showcasing Mulvey and Wollen’s films on artists. Including: Frida Kahlo and Tina Modotti which documents the Whitechapel Gallery exhibition of 1982 and Full Cycle: the Art of Komar and Melamid, which focuses on the two Russian artists. More
