A mirror ball comprising images of nearly every solar eclipse that’s been documented by humankind, including the oldest solar eclipse drawings from hundreds of years ago, the earliest 19th century photographs, and images from the most technologically advanced telescopes now. An Arts Council Collection commission as part ofUTOPIA 2016.

An exhibition shining new perspectives onto legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick's life work. Artists, film makers and musicians showcase works inspired by the cinematic master. Responding to the Kubrick archives, established and emerging artists such as Sarah Lucas, Doug Aitken and Thomas Baltanger will present new and existing work alongside soundscapes by curator DJ James Lavelle.

This major exhibition offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a rich selection of Sandro Botticelli’s exquisite drawings for Dante’s Divine Comedy alongside outstanding Renaissance illuminated manuscripts, including the monumental Hamilton Bible, acknowledged as one of the most important illuminated manuscripts in the world.

This month our free family workshop reflects on Katie Paterson’s new exhibit Totalityas participants are invited to build, shape and manipulate solar silhouettes to create a wall of wondrous works. We also host a series of events alongside the new Coalstoreinstallation that explore a range of topics including luxury and consumerism, relics and fakes in an enlightening series that digs deep into our relationship with the planet.
