The Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival is set to return for its 50th raucous weekend. As Europe’s biggest street party, it’s a spectacular of Caribbean culture, with a cacophony of Calypso music, steel bands and Sound Systems.
It’s noisy, busy, a blur of food and sound and colour, and can be a little overwhelming for some – but do it right, and it’ll make a weekend to remember. After all, it’s a London institution for a reason

When is the carnival?

Sunday August 28 and Bank Holiday Monday, August 29.
If you’re planning on bringing the children, head down on the Sunday, which is billed as the Family Day and is quieter than Monday, which tends to get extremely crowded.
