British Library - Win an out-of-hours curator-led tour of Maps and the 20th Century: Drawing the Line

Go behind the scenes of our maps exhibition and enjoy a show-and-tell session featuring rare cartographic treasures from our collection

Hosted by lead curator Tom Harper

See NASA’s map of the universe, top-secret military planning maps and A A Milne’s the Hundred Acre Wood at Maps and the 20th Century: Drawing the Line. Charting a turbulent century of contrasts, contradictions and extremes, you can experience this major exhibition after hours on an exclusive guided tour with the British Library’s lead curator of Antiquarian Maps, Tom Harper.
Five competition winners with their guests can also get up close with other rare maps from our collection – specially chosen by Tom to share with you. See cartographic gems like the personal maps of the kings and queens of England, the earliest maps of London and New York, and secret spy maps from the 17th century.
Understand how we curate and care for our maps collection, how we select items for exhibitions and ask the experts anything you ever wanted to know about the rarest and oldest maps in the world at this intimate event.

‘L'Entente cordiale’, an anti-British propaganda poster produced in Germany for a French audience, 1915.
