Transport for London - Weekend travel information 29-30 Oct 2016

Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 29-30 October. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
Trains will not run between Baker Street and Hammersmith/High Street Kensington. This is to allow for track replacement work at Paddington, Latimer Road and Edgware Road.

District line
There will be no service between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington or between Earl's Court and Kensington (Olympia). This is while track replacement and station improvement work takes place at Edgware Road.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between Baker Street and Hammersmith. This is to allow for track replacement work at Paddington, Latimer Road and Edgware Road.




London Overground


This weekend, there will be no service between Romford and Upminster, for Crossrail and Network Rail infrastructure work. 

On Sunday, trains will not run between Willesden Junction and Camden Road until 11:30, for Network Rail work. 

There is no service between Gospel Oak and Barking until February 2017. This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, please click here

TfL Rail


On Saturday there will be no service between Stratford and Shenfield until 20:00, at which point the closure will be extended Liverpool Street to Shenfield for the remainder of the weekend. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination: 

Belgravia - Between 21:00 and 05:00 each night until 24 November, lane closures are in place on Grosvenor Place at the junction of Chester Street. Temporary traffic lights are in place. This is for pedestrian crossing works. 

Earls Court - From 22:00 tomorrow, Friday, until 17:00 on Sunday, Earls Court Road will be closed in both directions between Cromwell Road and Old Brompton Road. This is for resurfacing works and a crane operation. 

Central London - From midday until 16:00 on Saturday, roads in the area will be busier than usual, including Piccadilly, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Parliament Square. This is for two marches. 

Northwest London - From 16:00 on Sunday until 22:30 on Monday, A406 Brentfield Road will be busier than usual and may be subject to closures for safety reasons. Lane restrictions may be in place at the junction of Drury Way. On Monday, there will be increased traffic in the area throughout the day. This is for an event. 

Wembley - From 10:30 until 18:30 on Sunday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including the A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to an event. 

Central London - From 09:00 until 14:00 on Tuesday, roads in St James's Park will be closed, including Constitution Hill, The Mall, Birdcage Walk, Great George Street, Marlborough Road, Spur Road, and Horse Guards Road. Between 11:35 and 11:45 and 12:30 and 12:40, there will also be closures or traffic holds on Buckingham Gate, and on Buckingham Palace Road between Bressenden Place and Buckingham Gate. This is for an event. 

A1 Holloway Road - Until January 2017, there will be a series of closures on the A1 Holloway Road between Fairbridge Road and Wedmore Gardens. This is while we carry out work to replace Upper Holloway Bridge. Bus routes 17, 43, 263, 271 and N41 will be diverted. For full details, visit tfl.gov.uk/upper-holloway-bridge

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

 South Quay West and Wansey Street and for building works
 Speakers’ Corner 1 & 2 and Cumberland Gate for civil works
 Westfield Eastern Access Road for site development
 Bourne Street, for building redevelopment
