Dippy may be coming to a town near you

Get ready for a dinosaur road trip Dippy will travel the length and breadth of the country from early 2018 to late 2020. For the first time Dippy will be on public display outside of London, visiting Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and five regions across England inspiring people to explore the natural world around them. The eight venues for the Dippy on Tour: A natural history adventure are: Dorset County Museum Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Ulster Museum Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle upon Tyne National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Number One Riverside, Rochdale Norwich Cathedral Fond farewell Don't miss your chance to say goodbye before Dippy departs on 4 January. Feeling nostalgic? Take a look at Dippy's life so far. Special dino-themed events New Year’s Eve Ball: Last Dance with Dippy Send Dippy off in style at our first-ever New Year’s Eve Ball. With the help of Guilty Pleasures DJs, dance the night away and see in 2017 in our iconic main hall. 31 December Kid's Christmas sleepover Join us for a special sleepover with a festive twist including Christmas carols and live reindeer. Camp around Dippy for the last time before the Diplodocus leaves the main hall. 23-24 December Visiting in 2017 From 5 January our main hall will be closed for major redevelopment work. Our popular Dinosaurs gallery, Volcanoes and Earthquakes and Mammals hall will remain open as usual.
