"Collishaw has not recreated an historical experience, but has instead constructed an entirely new one" (Frieze)

Visit Thresholds and encounter an exhibition like never before, as Mat Collishaw uses the latest VR technology to take you back in time to 1839, when William Henry Fox Talbot first presented his photographic experiments to the public.

"You don’t understand how much you enjoyed the virtual world until you feel the urge to go back." (The Telegraph)

A multi-sensory virtual experience, wander freely through the room and examine up-close Fox Talbot's early prints. Feel the warmth of a crackling hearth and hear the cries of Chartist protesters outside the building, as Collishaw recreates a moment in history of great technological upheaval comparable to the emergence of VR today.
