LA BOHEME LIVE from Taormina - in cinemas across the UK on 5th July 2017

CinemaLive, the #1 UK Independent Distributor of Event Cinema, are working in a partnership with Rising Alternative and Festival Euro Mediterraneo/Taormina Festival Opera for the first time to bring Puccini’s La bohème: Live from Taormina, Sicily to 350 cinemas across the UK, by live broadcast on Wednesday 5 July.

This will be the first release under CinemaLive’s new brand The World’s Most Spectacular Operas which will showcase stunning operas from around the globe in cinemas, making them accessible to UK audiences.

Perched high above the picturesque coast of Sicily and sitting under the shadow of Mt. Etna, Teatro Antico di Taormina has inspired artists for over 2000 years - from the ancient Greeks and Romans to today’s opera stars. Every summer, this romantic and dramatic setting welcomes opera lovers from all over the world.
Directed by Enrico Castiglione with costume design by Sonia Cammarata, this retelling of the timeless classic will enchant cinema audiences with its intense melodic lyrics, original and refined harmony, instrumental light feel and nuances which are all unmistakable and unique.
For the past 5 years, CinemaLive have distributed Opera Australia’s Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour productions to cinema audiences in the UK & Ireland. These productions have now been seen by over 75,000 people on the big screen.
