The installation of the blue whale
Today the Museum publicly unveils the re-imagined Hintze Hall and its new star specimen, marking the start of an exciting new era. Come and see the breath-taking 4.5-tonne blue whale skeleton diving from above and witness a pivotal moment in the Museum's history.

Putting our blue whale, called Hope, at the centre of the Museum between living and extinct species is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and humanity's responsibility towards the planet.
