Victoria and Albert Museum - Family activities this summer

Family Art Fun:
Summer Holidays
Visit us for a fun, creative day out for all the family during the summer holidays. Transform the John Madejski Garden with new structures and surfaces, explore architectural patterns and textures or create your own sensory clay object inspired by the new Sackler Courtyard.

All events are free and drop-in and recommended for ages 3+
(unless stated otherwise)

PERFORMANCE
Pop-up Performances
Saturdays throughout July and August
11.00, 13.00 & 15.00 (duration 30 mins)

Take part in exciting and unique performances suitable for all ages. 

On 22 July explore the new Sackler Courtyard as Chickenshed introduce you to the characters of Albertopolis. 

Sing-a-long to music hall classics on 29 July and 6 August in Music Hall Marvels.

On 12 and 19 August meet William Kent – a famous 18th century designer of houses and gardens as well as lover of good food – in The King’s Decorator.

Transform the John Madejski Garden with new structures and surfaces in an activity designed by Amanda Levete Architects (AL_A) and Arup. 

On Fridays, work with Architects from AL_A and engineers from Arup.

Work with artist-duo Kaleidoworks to create your own object inspired by the structures and surfaces of the new Sackler Courtyard.

Available to collect from the Sackler Centre Reception desk.

Visit our new Silver Discovery Area, in the Silver galleries. 

Draw your own silver trophy, peek inside special boxes to find curious objects, stamp your own hallmark and find animal figures hiding in the gallery. 

Discover what it was like to work in a silver workshop and listen to silversmiths talk about their craft.

Borrow one of our award-winning backpack to investigate the Museum through creative and fun multi-sensory activities. 

Or pick up a free family trail to explore with images and discover unusual parts of the Museum.

Inspired by exhibition Michael Morpurgo: A Lifetime in Stories, enjoy a series of fun family days celebrating children’s literature and storytelling this summer. Join us throughout the holidays with five themed days led by artists, writers, musicians and more!

Suitable for all ages
