Here is ourtravel update to help you get around London this bank holiday weekend, 26-28 August, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you. | |

The Notting Hill Carnival is taking place on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 August. Road closures will be in place; drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
|
Tube and rail will be the best way to get around London during the weekend, although stations in west London will be busier than usual and some stations will close earlier, so please check last train times. At some stations, gates may be left open so that you can exit more quickly. On Sunday and Monday, the following stations have entry and exit restrictions: |
| • | Latimer Road will close at 23:30 on both days |
| • | Notting Hill Gate will be exit only and the Circle/District lines will not stop on both days between 11:00 and 19:00. There will also be no interchange between the Central and Circle/District lines |
| • | Westbourne Park will be exit only between 11:00 and 18:00 and will close at 23:30 on both days |
| • | Royal Oak will be exit only between 11:00 and 18:00 and will close at 18:00 on both days |
| • | Holland Park will be exit only from 19:00 on both days |

On Saturday and Sunday there will be no service between Euston and Watford Junction, for Network Rail track work, as well as Network Rail work at Euston to enable High Speed Two (HS2).

On Saturday trains will not run between the following stations, while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018: |
| • | South Tottenham and Barking, all day |
| • | Gospel Oak and Barking from 19:00 |
|
On Sunday, trains will not run between the following stations: |
| • | Gospel Oak and Barking, until 15:30 while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018 |
| • | Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction until 11:00, due to Network Rail track work |
|
On Sunday and Monday there will be no service between Romford and Upminster, due to Crossrail construction work and Network Rail infrastructure work.
From Tuesday to Thursday next week, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:30, due to Network Rail track work.

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:
Blackfriars - From 22:00 tonight, Thursday, until 05:00 tomorrow, Friday, and between the same times next Thursday/Friday, the following roads will be closed: Blackfriars Underpass, Upper Thames Street, Lower Thames Street eastbound, between Victoria Embankment and Byward Street. This is for drainage works.
London Bridge - From 01:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Tuesday, Tooley Street will be closed in both directions between Borough High Street and Bermondsey Street. This is for Network Rail work.
Wembley - From midday until 19:00 on Saturday, and 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, roads in the area will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium. This is due to sporting events.

Update: Waterloo station improvement work - Until Monday, there is a further severe reduction in South Western Railway service. Around 75% fewer trains than usual will run today, Thursday and tomorrow, Friday, due to Network Rail’s improvement works at the station. Thameslink programme works - From Saturday until Saturday 2 September, Southeastern trains will not serve Charing Cross, Waterloo East or London Bridge stations while Network Rail carries out improvement works as part of the Thameslink programme. Fewer Southeastern trains will run and all services will be busier. Cannon Street and Victoria stations will be exceptionally busy with queuing systems in place.
