Picasso and Modern British Art opened yesterday at Tate Britain, highlighting the extensive legacy and influence on British art made by the twentieth century's single most important artistic figure.
It brings together over 150 spectacular artworks, including over 60 stunning Picassos alongside the works of seven of Picasso's most brilliant British admirers for whom he proved a potent inspiration:Duncan Grant, Wyndham Lewis, Ben Nicholson, Henry Moore,Francis Bacon, Graham Sutherland and David Hockney.
Full of beautiful and inspirational artworks, this exhibition is an unmissable treat and a fascinating insight into how British art became modern.
