A new free display showcasing the invaluable work of the Corporation of Trinity House in helping mariners navigate safely at sea. Explore rarely-seen objects and discover stories of the heroic and the extraordinary from throughout the organisation's history.   Caird Library Lates Taking place in April, May and June The Library Lates programme is a series of curator-led talks held in the Caird Library at the National Maritime Museum. The talks are illustrated with rare and unique items from the library and archive collections and offer a fascinating and in-depth look at maritime art and history.   Longitude Punk'd Included in Royal Observatory entry Longitude Punk'd celebrates the creations of wacky inventors, star-gazing scientists and extremely elegant explorers of the 18th century. We have commissioned eight UK 'steampunk' artists to create new works inspired by the technical inventions that were presented to the Board of Longitude between 1714 and 1828.     Educational Videos For the universally curious Join Royal Observatory Greenwich astronomers Radmila, Liz and Brendan in exploring the big questions of the universe. How big is the Universe? What's inside a black hole? How do we know how old the Sun is? You can also learn how to use software to explore the night sky.   War Artists at Sea A rolling programme until February 2015 The new War Artists at Sea display, features artists works depicting battle scenes and everyday life during 20th century conflict. A selection of sketches focusing on the personal experience of war have now been put on display at the Queen's House. Among these are drawings by Wren Gladys E. Reed whos works are on display for the first time ever. We are still appealing for any information you have about this somewhat unknown yet extraordinary World War Two artist.
