Events at Guildhall Library
Guildhall Library hosts a series of free afternoon talks on London history and related topics as well as monthly evening events from 6-8pm. Evening events are typically followed by a wine reception and a book signing by the author. There is usually a charge for these events, which entitles you to a complimentary glass of wine. Events
Mark Mason, author of Walk the Lines, recounts his experience of walking the London Underground overground and what he learned along the way; including how to get the best gossip in a City pub, and why the Bank of England won't let you join the M11 northbound at Junction 5.
This illustrated talk by Julie Melrose, Archivist at Islington Local History Centre, explores the history and social changes in the historic inner-London parishes of St James Clerkenwell, St Luke Old Street and St Mary Islington, through paintings, prints and drawings held in the Centre’s collection.
The Bank’s curator examines some of the compelling events and personalities featured in the Bank’s new exhibition, some of which have never previously been displayed.
Niki Gorick talks about her new photographic exhibition at Guildhall Library and how she created her latest 26-print 'photo-set' by capturing the City's multifarious workforce.
Join our librarians to learn about the history of Guildhall Library, tour the building (including behind the scenes!) and view some of the library’s treasures.
