24 May 2014 to 31 May 2014
Come and celebrate London’s trees and woodlands with a week of special events. To find out what’s happening on a particular day, see the tabs above. If you would like to add an event, please email trees@london.gov.uk or tweet@LDN_environment.
Activities going on throughout the week include:
- Rooting for Trees – City Hall cafĂ©, 8.30am-5pm, 26-30 May. This exhibition highlights why trees matter to Londoners. Photographer Emma Phillips worked with The Tree Council to produce images of Tree Wardens at various locations where they feel most strongly connected with trees. Each portrait offers a story about the importance of one, or many, trees. It also explores what motivates different people to plant, care for and help with the conservation of trees in their neighbourhood.
- Walk or cycle the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Trail.
- Walk in the woods events from The Tree Council.
- Watch out for two new forests popping up in London!
