Our special exhibition Defining beauty: the body in ancient Greek art is now open! The sculptures, bronzes and pots on display show the many different ways in which the ancient Greeks portrayed the human body. You can enjoy special events and activities inspired by the exhibition, including family trails, activities for under 5s and creative art workshops. The holiday is also the perfect time to come face to face with eight mummies in our interactive exhibition Ancient lives, new discoveries. Don’t forget under 16s go free to all exhibitions and kids eat free in the Gallery Café.

Experience the brilliance and diversity of ancient Greek art in this major exhibition focusing on the human body. The works of art include white marble staues, terracottas and bronzes. They portray heroes, gods and monsters, from Aphrodite to Zeus and everything in between.

Discover the story of one of the world’s oldest continuing cultures in this new exhibition. The show will be the first major exhibition in the UK to present a history of Indigenous Australia through objects, and will celebrate the cultural strength and resilience of both Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders. Look out for special family activities inspired by this exhibition, coming soon.

Follow the family trail for Defining beauty: the body in ancient Greek art to explore the exhibition with your family. The mini-activities in the trail are designed to start discussion about the artworks in the exhibition, taking in athletes, myths, gods and goddesses, and more.
Bring your children to the British Museum for a family visit this Easter. The Ford Centre’s family-friendly facilities can be used free of charge, and we have a huge range of free trails and backpacks available from the Families Desk in the Great Court.
