HEAD TO THE RIVER FOR THE THAMES BARGE DRIVING RACE!
On Saturday 4 July, head over to see the 40th annual Thames Barge Driving Race. It’s a fantastic feat of strength and technique as the barge drivers row their 30-tonne boats between Greenwich and Westminster Bridge. The race commemorates the skills of the traditional Thames Lightermen in one of the greatest Thames spectacles. Line the river to catch the 12pm start!
Historic charter Havengore has been awarded the accolade ‘Regional Flagship of the Year’. Havengore will host open days at St Katharine Docks during the Classic Boat Festival (Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 September, 11am – 6pm). It’s a free event, part of Totally Thames, open to everyone, and a golden chance to step aboard this elegant vessel.
