Scent and Spirit of London – Book Now |
Even during the Second World War nothing got between a man and his pint. So wedded were the Brits to their beer that in June 1944, during the D Day landings, Spitfires flew into France with barrels of ale strapped under the wings. Enjoy a taster of Shepherd Neame’s Spitfire Ale while learning how the British pub became a wartime symbol of resistance at our Talk and Tasting: Scent and Spirit of London event. Your ticket includes a glass of Perrier-Jouet champagne plus entry to our Friday Late event on the same evening. |

If you love Routemasters come and see the first prototype RM1 during one of our tours at the Museum Depot in Acton. This iconic vehicle entered public service in 1956, although Routemasters did not appear in numbers until 1959. The Routemaster was designed for 15 years’ service, but lasted for nearly 50. |
