Conversations across the Collections
Hands up who had fun at last month's 'Theatrically Re-imagining Collections' seminar day? Basically as you can see everyone did!
With the help of Impropera, we theatrically re-imagined the ‘conference’, and heard from a range of museums who had worked with performance companies who told us all about their successful collaborations to produce innovative work across the UK.
This included Made By Katie Green Dance Company and Ipswich Museum with the Imagination Museum and the Against Captain's Orders event by Punchdrunk and the National Maritime Museum.
It was a fantastic event with a great array of museums, researchers, curators and artists... we think many interesting collaborations will come together as a result - so watch this space for new conversations between art and collections!

Really excited to announce our summer exhibition!! 26th May to 6th August
Sculpture students from the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL have been invited to create works in response to the Museum’s collections, science and history. The brief is wide – they can place works among the Museum’s own objects, take over entire cabinets, or use other voids and spaces. Alongside the Museum’s historic skeletons, skulls and specimens preserved in jars, the new works will engage with animal/human encounters and transform the historic zoological museum.
Come along between 1-5pm Monday - Saturday| Grant Museum of Zoology, Rockefeller Building, University College London, University Street, WC1E 6DE
Free and open to all
