Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 28 and 29 July, and also the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but to ensure your journey goes smoothly please check if any of the following affect you.
Prudential RideLondon
The annual Prudential RideLondon weekend festival of cycling is taking place over the weekend. The routes will be closed to traffic. Road users are advised to avoid the affected areas wherever possible. Buses will be on diversion or stop short of their destinations. Tube and Rail will be the best way to get around during the weekend.
On Saturday, the event route is in central London. Some roads will be closed from 05:00 until 19:30.
On Sunday, the event routes are in east, central and south west London and in the affected parts of Surrey. Some roads will be closed from 04:00 until 20:00.

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July, there will be no service between: |
| • | Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction. This is due to Network Rail Infrastructure work and Earls Court development work |
| • | Liverpool Street and Enfield Town, Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) and Chingford. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work |

On Sunday 29 July, there will no service between: |
| • | New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace / West Croydon. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work |
| • | South Tottenham and Barking until 12:30. This is due to Network Rail track work |

From Monday 30 July until Thursday 2 August, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:30 each evening. This is due to Network Rail track work.

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:
St James’s Park - From 07:00 on Friday 27 until 06:00 on Monday 30 July, The Mall between Spur Road, Horse Guards Road and Marlborough Road will be closed. From 05:45 until 17:45 on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July, Birdcage Walk, Constitution Hill, Great George Street and the surrounding roads will also be closed. This is due to an event.
Central London - From 04:00 until 19:30 on Saturday 28 July, there will be a series of phased road closures within the St James’s Park area. From 04:00, roads including Constitution Hill and Great George Street will be closed. From 06:00, various roads heading east into Holborn and the City of London area will be closed. From 07:00, roads including Waterloo Bridge, Aldwych, Kingsway, Victoria Embankment, Trafalgar Square and all approaches will be closed. There will also be a lane closure on the northern arm of Parliament Square. Closures east of and including Waterloo Bridge will reopen at 18:00. Victoria Embankment, Trafalgar Square and all approaches will reopen at 19:30. Roads within the St James’s Park area, including Great George Street will remain closed for the remainder of the weekend. This is due to an event.
Swiss Cottage - From Monday 30 July 2018 to September 2019, drivers should expect some delays while travelling on the A41 Finchley Road through Swiss Cottage while we build Cycle Superhighway 11. We are doing all that we can to ensure the reliability of your bus journey is maintained, including installing temporary bus stops where possible to make your journey easier.
Central London - From 11:00 until 20:00 on Wednesday 1 August, there will be a series of phased road closures between Brixton Road and Parliament Square via Kennington Park Road, Kennington Road, Westminster Bridge Road, Westminster Bridge and their approaches. This is due to a march.

Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)
From 8 April 2019, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is coming to central London in the same area as the Congestion Charge zone. It will operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Vehicles will need to meet the new stricter emission standards, or pay the daily ULEZ charge. This is in addition to the weekday Congestion Charge.

Lane closures, parking, loading and turning restrictions will be in place at different times during works. Please plan ahead and allow more time for your journey.
