Come on a Green Journey this summer!

From 23 July - 1 September, get hands-on in our new interactive Green Journey installation, and take part in family activities designed to help you think about climate change, imagine what a greener London could look like, and explore the role of transport in creating a sustainable city. Don't miss the workshops for 8-14 year-olds! It's all included with your Museum annual pass - and as always, kids go free.

Object of the Month Acton station garden, 1922 Today, Acton is home to the Museum Depot, but back in 1922 this is what Acton Town Underground station would have looked like to travellers arriving on the westbound platform. Our Object of the Month is this photo showing a station staff member standing in their elaborate planned station garden, which won fourth prize in that year’s District Railway station gardens competition.

Park and garden posters Londoners are fortunate to have a large number of parks and gardens to visit. London Transport has used posters over the years to promote visiting these open air destinations by public transport. Parks posters in the collection Walter Ernest Spradbery For three decades, Spradbery designed posters for London Transport, showing his particular interest in landscape and nature, and capturing scenes of sorrow and survival during the Second World War.
