Visit The Courtauld Gallery this August Coming Soon - Jasper Johns: Regrets Don’t miss this display of major new works by Jasper Johns, one of the world’s greatest living artists (12 September - 14 December 2014). Regrets is a haunting series of ten paintings and drawings inspired by a photograph of Lucian Freud posing in Francis Bacon’s London studio. Johns reworked the subject in a variety of media, creating works that can be experienced as meditations on mortality, creativity and memory. This exhibition is based upon one originally organised by The Museum of Modern Art, New York. The popularity of new French foods such as soups and sauces required new shapes for serving dishes, such as the tureen and the sauceboat. The Courtauld Gallery's collection of silver has been re-displayed in new cases thanks to the generosity ofAkzoNobel.
