Coming Soon - Jasper Johns: Regrets
Don’t miss this display of major new works by Jasper Johns, one of the world’s greatest living artists (12 September - 14 December 2014).
Regrets is a haunting series of ten paintings and drawings inspired by a photograph of Lucian Freud posing in Francis Bacon’s London studio.
Johns reworked the subject in a variety of media, creating works that can be experienced as meditations on mortality, creativity and memory.
This exhibition is based upon one originally organised by The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
