Celebrating World Lion Day Our new Asiatic lioness, Arya, marked her first World Lion Day at the Zoo this week. And to celebrate zookeepers treated her to a colourful globe filled with her favourite breakfast treats, to encourage her to put her hunting skills to good use as she sniffed out the food hidden inside. READ MORE A new arrival at the Zoo Zookeepers at Whipsnade Zoo have captured on camera a first glimpse of a rare and Endangered Przewalski's foal. The female foal was born last month, as part of the European Endangered Species Programme and is starting to explore her surroundings with her mum.   WATCH THE VIDEO

It's World Elephant Day Our herd of elephants at Whipsnade Zoo enjoyed a special surprise for World Elephant Day. Zookeepers gave them two colourful, giant piñatas, custom made for elephants, filled with biodegradable confetti and their favourite treats.  WATCH THE VIDEO
