Put your best foot forward with activities ranging from fashion design and sewing to object handling and cooking sessions and much more! Half term headlines Button it! Stitch it! Dress it! Sun 22 - Fri 27 Oct, 10.30-11.15am, 12 -12.45pm & 1.30-2.15pm. Sign-up required on arrival Learn how to be a fashion designer, tailor and skilled maker. Make a hand-sewn fabric pouch to keep your trinkets safe, learn how to cross stitch, and decorate your own ‘fashionista’ paper figure. All materials provided and all ages welcome. Story of an East End champion boxer Sun 22 - Tue 24 Oct, 11.30am - 12.15pm, 1.15-2.30pm & 3.15-4pm. Sign-up required on arrival Join our active storytelling about immigrant families in the East End during the 1920s and 30s. Inspired by our collection, join this action packed adventure story filled with games, shadow puppetry, role play and dress up. Object handling Sat 21, Tues 24 - Sun 29 Oct, 10.30am - 1pm & 2-4.30pm. Touch, feel and examine objects from the museum's fashion collection. Feel the weight of a Victorian iron and examine materials that tailors and needleworkers used. Decorate our washing line Sat 21 - Sun 29 Oct, 10.30am - 1pm & 2-4.30pm. Choose your clothing item and design and decorate it with style. Ilana Banana toddler party Sun 22, Mon 23, Wed 25 Oct, 10.30-11.15am, 11.45am-12.30pm & 2.45-3.30pm. Jiggle and giggle with children's party entertainer Ilana Banana. Enjoy music, party games and traditional rhymes and quirky songs in a relaxed atmosphere. Tots at the Docks Wed 25 Oct, 10.30am - 3pm. Pop along to our popular monthly toddler drop-in session – this time with a fashion twist. Mini fashion gurus can dress up and strike a pose, practise fine motor skills with basic threading, and more.
