The BBC Singers and David Hill explore five centuries of Great British choral music-making, from the Golden Age of Queen Elizabeth I with works by the two most illustrious English composers of the era, Thomas Tallis and William Byrd, to the 20th century folksong arrangements by collectorsHolst and Percy Grainger, and to lighter music written for the BBC Singers by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett in the 1990s.
This concert is recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
