The Rooms Through Time have been redressed for out annual free exhibition and the galleries have been decked with festive decorations! Over 40 stallholders will be taking over the Museum for one day only in a festive market featuring everything from stocking fillers to centrepieces for someone special — and much more!

Discover independent makers and artisan pieces at Museum of the Home as it transforms for one day only! Be sure to get early access tickets (10am entry) to secure your place! Winter Past now open Free exhibition | Until Sunday 11 January 2026 Journey through homes and traditions of winters past, present and future in the annual festive exhibition. Curated in collaboration with the Museum’s Community Authors, Winter Past explores how seasonal festivals and personal traditions shape the ways we spend time at home during the winter months. No matter your age, all will enjoy a seasonal journey through four centuries of home, warmth, and celebration - from the 1600s to the future. Ho Ho Home: Museum Late Thursday 4 December 2025 ‘Tis the season to be jolly! We’ve decked the halls of the Museum for the holidays with our annual Winter Past exhibition, and are ready to eat, drink, and be merry. Explore our galleries dressed for the festive season after-hours, grab a cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine, and join us in celebrating the newly commissioned Christmas Banister installation by artist Honey Birch. What’s new at Museum of the Home

As you may have heard, we’ve been busy behind the scenes transforming our Rooms Through Time. But that’s not all—we have a delightful late summer season including new exhibitions, a fashion show, and the return of our much-loved Ceramics in the City fair! You can enhance your visits to the museum with guided tours, new family provisions and, of course, a stop at our freshly reopened café.

Vinterior's Mid-Century Modern Dollshouse In the Chapel | From Tuesday 20 August We are thrilled to be exhibiting a special collaboration between Vinterior and The Kensington Dolls House Company this month. Together, they have meticulously restored a vintage, pre-loved dolls house, breathing new life into it with a stunning mid-century modern design. Join us as we unveil this masterpiece, culminating in an exclusive auction at the end of October offering you the chance to own this one-of-a-kind spin on the traditional dollshouse. Find out more

Home Truths: SUM LONDON SS25 Menswear Runway Show Thursday 5 September, 6.30pm to 9.30pm | £7-10 What does ‘Home’ mean to children of immigrants within Britain, and how does this change over time? Aligning with London Fashion Week, explore identity with a runway show of SUM LONDON’s Homebound collection, followed by talk on home for the Asian diaspora and the British Chinese experience. This Home Truths edition marks the gallery’s opening and celebrates their diverse stories and identities with the catwalk winding through our period rooms from 1878 to 2049. Book here

Ceramics in the City Saturday 14 September to Sunday 15 September, 10am to 5pm | FREE Join us this September for our annual market celebrating the world of ceramics, showcasing everything from functional tableware to decorative objects and unique collector's pieces. For just £5 you can join us at the private view and get a first glimpse at your new favourite pieces. Find out more

Support SGW Lab’s Project 3000 Closes Sunday 4 August, 11.59pm SGW Lab led by ceramic designer Yuta Segawa is raising support for an upcoming exhibition during London Design Festival in September 2024. Project 3000 is a stunning exhibition of 3000 miniature pots produced by the artist, creating a space where makers and users can interact with the unique works. The artist proposes a new way of presenting crafts: one where visitors “experience the preciousness of craftsmanship, buy objects, take them home, and use them at home, as people are supposed to with craftwork.” Help Yuta to raise the remaining 30% of goal the amount required to bring this exhibition to life. Rewards start from donations of just £12, with pledges of £27 and up including a unique miniature pot to take home. For families

Families brought a big burst of energy and joy to our museum takeover last Sunday to celebrate the opening of our new gallery! With activities spread all across the Museum, children heard the story of the winter melon, watched mesmerising mythical dance, illustrated zines about their homes, made music and lots more! A huge thank you to the facilitators, performers, food vendors, the brilliant team of volunteers as well as all the hundreds of amazing families who attended – you made it a day to remember.
