The Spirit of Christmas returns to London’s most iconic street on Thursday 16th November, with a magical, festive celebration to mark the switch-on of the capital’s largest Christmas lighting scheme.

Regent Street was the very first central London street to introduce festive lighting and decoration back in 1954 to bring the spirit of Christmas to all Londoners. The tradition has carried on and since influenced many other destinations nationwide to bring this spirit to their local communities through festive lighting schemes.

From 4pm on November 16th, the grand stretch of Regent Street will be fully pedestrianised from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus until 9pm, enabling visitors to the capital to soak up the festive atmosphere amongst Regent Street’s world-class shops and restaurants.  Stores, restaurants, hotels and bars will be opening their doors for the evening to offer exclusive treats and surprises – the perfect opportunity to buy gifts for loved ones or celebrate ahead of Christmas. Bigger and more twinkling than ever, the event will begin with an array of performances from special guests, including an iconic artist and a world-class performance to be announced very soon.

The fleet of spectacular large-scale ‘spirits’ – Regent Street’s most ambitions lighting scheme – will return for a second year to soar the length of one of London’s most recognisable destinations. Designed by leading British lighting creatives, James Glancy Design, the scheme is a breath-taking gift to the street’s visitors to mark the ‘most wonderful time of the year’.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, 8 December with Butterbeer, Souvenir and Special Guest

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - Warner Bros: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, 8 December with Butterbeer, Souvenir and Special Guest

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Once doors have closed to the public on 1st, 8th, 14th and 15th December, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter will welcome Groupon members for an exclusive Christmas event. Available for entry from 3.30pm, guests will be granted after-hours access to a tour which showcases authentic sets, props and costumes from the Harry Potter film series. All guests will receive a complimentary retail souvenir on arrival and the tour will stay open until midnight on these special nights.
For the first time ever, the Great Hall stage will be decorated as it was for the iconic Yule Ball. As seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the celebration of the Triwizard Tournament saw every detail of the Great Hall covered in shimmering silver, dripping icicles and sparkling snow. Groupon Members will get a taster of this incredible set dress as the top section of the Great Hall will be transformed with snow-covered Christmas trees, icicles and an orchestra of magical instruments. In addition to the Yule Ball decoration, The Great Hall will be lined with Christmas trees and the long dining tables of the Great Hall will be dressed as they were for seasonal feasts at Hogwarts with prop versions of roast turkeys, hams studded with cherries and even Christmas puddings surrounded by real flames.
As part of the Hogwarts in the Snow feature, many of the iconic sets housed at the Studio Tour will receive a festive makeover. The Gryffindor Common Room and Boys’ Dormitory will be decorated with the original props and the Hogwarts castle model will be transformed with a layer of filmmaking snow.
While exploring the attraction, guests will also be able to enjoy experiences that have been specifically added for Groupon members like enjoying a special demonstration courtesy of John Richardson, Special Effects Supervisor from the Harry Potter film series. They’ll get the chance to learn wand moves and can ‘fly’ a broomstick like a member of the cast in the Studio Tour’s green screen experience
During a short break in the attraction’s Backlot Cafe, guests will be able to enjoy a selected hot meal; a glass of wine, beer, hot or soft drink; and a Butterbeer™ served in a souvenir cup to take home! They’ll also get the chance to meet the Death Eaters in the shadows of Diagon Alley before being completely enchanted by the vision of a snowy Hogwarts Castle, especially created for the festive period.
On-site parking is available, as is a return shuttle bus from Watford Junction station if required.
