RNLI Mayday

From Tuesday 26 April to Monday 2 May, Mayday fundraising events will be taking place across the UK and Ireland to raise vital funds for the RNLI. From cake bakes and welly wanging competitions, to street collections, sponsored runs and wearing wellies to work, people will be doing all sorts of things to raise money for the lifesaving charity. Groupon is making it easier than ever to donate, by allowing those feeling charitable to give at the click of a button.

Donations can be from as little as £1 and the money will be used where ever the need is greatest within the RNLI.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution

In 2015, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) volunteer lifeboat crews saved 348 lives and rescued 7,973 people – that’s an average of 23 people rescued every day. This coming May Day bank holiday weekend, the charity is issuing its own call for help. Through its national annual fundraising event, Mayday, the RNLI is calling on people to show their support to help the charity’s lifeboat crews carry on saving lives. Every day is Mayday for the RNLI’s lifeboat crews, who are specially-trained volunteers, on-call 24/7 to save lives at sea. Whatever the weather, day or night, they are ready to drop everything and launch the lifeboats to rescue anyone in danger at sea around the coasts of the UK and Ireland. But, as a charity, the lifesaving service they provide is only possible thanks to the generous support of the public.

Waiting list for 'naked' London restaurant hits 30,000

Almost 30,000 people have signed up to dine at a new London restaurant where they can eat without wearing clothes.
Visitors to The Bunyadi will wear only gowns which they can remove "if they wish" as they sample stripped back food cooked without any modern gadgets.
Owners Lollipop said they were "amazed" by the interest in the "fascinating social experiment" that will take diners to a "Pangea-like world".
The restaurant will open for three months in central London in June.
Upon arrival, diners will head to changing rooms where they will place all their belongings in lockers and be given the gowns to wear.
Once in the restaurant, they will be seated in sections partitioned by bamboo and lit only by candlelight, where they will be able to strip "if they wish".

Founder Seb Lyall said he wanted people to "experience a night out without any impurities" including, chemicals, electricity, gas and "even no clothes".
Technology such as phones and watches will also be banned.
A spokesperson for Lollipop said the trickiest part of the restaurant was the cuisine.
All food will be basic and cooked by chefs using only a wooden stick over an open fire.

A tasting menu of five vegan or non-vegan dishes will be served on handmade clay dishes and eaten using edible cutlery, which will become part of one of the courses.
For safety reasons, the chefs will not be naked.
In spite of the size of the waiting list, Lollipop said The Bunyadi will make a loss while it is open.
However, if it proves popular they hope to expand the idea and possibly even create a new "naked cuisine".

Full Description
St Paul's Cathedral
We take you on a guided tour of St Paul's Cathedral, Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece with its magnificent dome. The Cathedral was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666. In recent years it has seen the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, to Lady Diana Spencer and, more recently, the thanksgiving services for both the Diamond Jubilee and 80th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen.

The Tower of London and Crown Jewels
Founded by William the Conqueror in 1066-7 and enlarged by successive sovereigns, the Tower of London is one of the world's most famous and spectacular fortresses. Over the past 1000 years, it has been a Royal Palace, an armoury and a place of imprisonment and execution. The Beefeaters who guard the Tower will regale you with stories of its past. We will visit the Crown Jewels, including the magnificent solid-gold crown used at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, the enormous Cullinan diamonds, and the extraordinary Koh-I-Noor.

Thames River Cruise (from 1 April 2016)
City Cruises operate a regular service between the Tower of London and Westminster Pier. You have the choice to take the River Cruise and end your tour at Westminster Pier, or take the cruise on another day and go with your guide back to Victoria. River Cruise Tickets are one-way from Tower Pier to Westminster Pier (or vice versa).

Jack the Ripper
Our tour begins with a coach drive direct to the dark side of London. The Theatre Drury Lane said to be the most haunted theatre in London, your guide will tell you why! We see the Old Bailey - the site of numerous public hangings, drive along Fleet Street, home of Sweeny Todd - the demon barber of Fleet Street - and his accomplice, Mrs. Lovatt, who was said to have baked pies from the flesh of his victims, selling them to unsuspecting customers.

As the shadows lengthen, we approach London's East End, a hotbed of crime and vice in the 19th century. During the autumn of 1888, terror struck when Jack the Ripper came out of the fog and dimly lit alleys just long enough to stalk and butcher his five victims.

We leave the coach and walk his death trail inspecting the murder sites, deciphering the evidence and discussing the suspects. We will see the 10 Bells Pub, built in 1752 where many of Jack the Ripper's victims were said to have drunk. To this day, the case remains unsolved.

Captain America Civil War - Film Synopsis - Posters - Film Trailer

One year after the events of Age of Ultron, Steve Rogers and the Avengers become embroiled in another incident on an international scale. The aftermath of which prompts numerous politicians to take action to deal with the collateral damage.
The proposition is for the Avengers to be monitored by a governing system of accountability which will oversee and direct the team, determining under what circumstances they are enlisted to help.
But the Avengers are far from united in moving forward under the new governing body. The team divide into opposing forces: Captain America/Steve Rogers heads up the team who seek to operate without the controlling hand of a regulating body, and Iron Man/Tony Stark leads the opposition, who wish to work with the government in safeguarding the world from new enemies.
The impressive cast includes: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, and Jeremy Renner, all starring in this third instalment in the Captain America series.
Once again, the film is helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with screenwriters of the first two Captain America films, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, also returning to pen the script.
