Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 2/3 April 2016

Travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 2/3 April. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Central line
There will be no service between Marble Arch and Bethnal Green. This is to allow for points renewal work between Holborn and Liverpool Street.




London Overground


There is no service between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell and Surrey Quays and New Cross, due to Crossrail construction work. Services will resume on Saturday.
 
On Sunday there is no service between the following stations:
 Gospel Oak and Barking until 12:00, to prepare the line for electrification
 Camden Road and Stratford, due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner

London Trams


There are changes to services as follows:
 Trams from Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington are terminating at East Croydon
 Trams from Wimbledon are terminating at Reeves Corner
 Line 4 is not running
 
Services will resume on Sunday. This is due to track renewal work in Croydon Town Centre.





Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Stockwell - There are temporary traffic signals in place in both directions on A3 Clapham Road at the junction of Stockwell Park Road. There is also a southbound lane restriction in place. This is due to a burst water main.

City of London - Until 18:00 on Sunday 17 April, Threadneedle Street is closed between Old Broad Street and Bishopsgate for utility works.

Northwest London - From 22:00 tomorrow, Friday, until 05:00 on Wednesday, A406 North Circular Road has lane restrictions westbound between Dog Lane and Brentfield Road for collaborative TfL and utility works.

Wembley - From 12:00 until 18:30 on Sunday, delays are expected on roads surrounding Wembley Stadium, including the A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is for a sporting event.

Northwest London - From 07:00 on Monday until 17:00 on Monday 18 April, Brentfield Road will be closed in both directions at the junction of A406 North Circular Road. This is for junction improvement works.

Santander Cycles


The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
 Breams Buildings, for utility works
 Kingsway, for repair works
 South Quay West and Wansey Street, for building works
 Webber Street, for site reconstruction
 Kennington Road Post Office, for electrical works
