London Film Museum Covent Garden

London Film Museum: "The London Film Museum in association with Lionsgate Films presents the original costumes and props from the forthcoming release of Conan the Barbarian starring Jason Momoa."

Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Said Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman

The colossal legend that is CONAN THE BARBARIAN is back this Summer.

Having thrived and evolved for eight decades in the public imagination - in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small - Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before. Shot in 3D, the reimagining of one man’s mythical battle for revenge is finally here in this Epic action-adventure film.
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realises he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Deftly adapted from the original works of Robert E. Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character, CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Said Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman. The film is directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer and Sean Hood.

Tickets are available on the door daily.

Doggett’s Coat and Badge
The views across the Thames to blackfriars bridge and St paul’s define our pub. The name has a river connection too.
almost 300 years ago, Thomas doggett established an amateur rowing race from London bridge to Chelsea.
The prize was a coat and badge. The race still runs every July.
Food, drink, history, and eccentricity since 1873
Every nicholson’s alehouse is unique. Each has a story to tell – of the artisans who built it and of the heroes, villains and
eccentrics who made it their home. our pubs are part of a great british tradition of alehouse hospitality. They’re grand yet
homely, exactly as our founder, William nicholson, intended.

Doggetts Coat & Badge-London Pubs

Doggetts Coat & Badge

Doggett’s is a four floored bar on the Southbank of the river Thames near Blackfriars bridge. We have excellent outside areas next to the river front and a large terrace at the rear. We have two large public bars with ample seating and quality food is available until 10.30pm every day. We also serve a full breakfast menu from 10am

The entire pub is beautifully decorated and dark wood is used throughout to enhance the atmosphere and character. There are four main public seating areas; Outside to the front and back, the main bar and the Dining Room. In addition we boast three private hire rooms. The spectacular roof terrace bar, a large restaurant and bar on the third floor and a well equipped board/meeting room.

mill is pictured in J.F.Herring’s Return from the Derby, showing a lively crowd of racegoers in front of the inn, and it seems that it must have been a regular stopping point on Derby Day. The Windmill has been a Young’s house since 1848.

The Windmill Clapham Common- London Pubs

The pub is a rambling building dating mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, with a choice of bars and since 1993 has been converted into a small but successful hotel in a next-door house called Holly Lodge. Its location on the edge of the common makes it an extremely popular place on a warm sunny weekend, with visitors spilling out onto the common.
The exact location of the original windmill is now obscure and to confuse matters, there are also references to two windmills. The miller, Thomas Crenshaw, is noted in the parish records in 1665 as also being an alehouse keeper, but milling must have gradually become less important and beer more so, and by 1789, the Windmill is noted as ‘a very genteel and good accustomed house, many years in the possession of Mrs Simmonds’. (A Companion from London to Brighthelmston – J Edwards). In 1815, it was described by the Epicure’s Almanack as ‘that pleasant house’ with ‘dinners dressed to order and excellent ordinaries are provided on Sunday’s’. It became a staging post for coaches, although Windmill Lane was still a rural track until 1840.
The Windmill is pictured in J.F.Herring’s Return from the Derby, showing a lively crowd of racegoers in front of the inn, and it seems that it must have been a regular stopping point on Derby Day. The Windmill has been a Young’s house since 1848.

Stay at The Goring Hotel London

5 STAR HOTEL IN BELGRAVIA SINCE 1910

Back in 1910, Jeremy’s great-grandfather, OR Goring, founded the hotel that has carried the family name ever since.
A man of great vision, OR Goring persuaded the Duke Of Westminster to sell the plot of land at the Buckingham Palace end of what was to become Beeston Place, where he razed the Sun public house and a string of cottages to make way for the last grand hotel to be built in the Edwardian era.
On the 2nd March 1910 the world’s first hotel with en suite facilities and central heating to every bedroom was opened.
