Dulwich Picture Gallery - The Power of Art & Music - July What's On

The Power of Art & Music...
There's been a lot of music in the air recently, and we're not just talking about a certain field in Somerset. Last weekend, our groundbreaking Visual to Vocal project returned for a fifth year, uniting people living with dementia, their carers, and young people from two local schools. Head over to our blog to meet Abi and Josheela, to find out how they worked creatively with people with dementia.

We were also honoured to host another incredible performance recently, as previous Glastonbury headliners Florence & The Machine took to the stage at our Summer Party, declaring the Dulwich Pavilion well and truly open. At the end of July we're also welcoming The Florentine Arts Ensemble for an evening of violin sonatas, inspired by our newly opened exhibition, Sargent: The Watercolours.

As usual, it's an action-packed month ahead - scroll down for more!

MUSIC
Sargent: Sonatas - The Florentine Arts Ensemble
30 July, 7.30pm. £20 / £18. (Including exhibition: £25 / £20)

Sargent’s fascination with the Impressionist movement resulted in a lifelong friendship with Monet and his wider circle of musical friends including Fauré, Debussy and Syzmanowsky. Enjoy violin sonatas by these greats, which have much in common in approach with impressionistic painting, performed by The Florentine Arts Ensemble. Interspersed during the evening will be recollections of Sargent's pianistic skills, including those of his regular partner, the American violinist Charles Loeffler.
